Hair Restoration Microneedling

with PRP (platelet-rich plasma)

PRP is a portion of blood that contains a high supply of platelets.  These platelets are rich in growth factors that help stimulate the growth of healthy skin tissue and repair damaged tissue.

Blood is drawn from the patient in the same manner as a routine blood sample and spun in a centrifuge to separate the PRP from whole blood cells.  Once isolated, the PRP is microneedled into the patient's scalp with a varied number of injections, depending on the size of the treatment area.

The doctor will determine the appropriate amount of treatments for the best results.  Often 3-6 treatments are recommended for the maximum results.

What to Expect

After the treatment, bruising, swelling at and around the injection sites, and discomfort may occur.

Post-Treatment

Increasing blood flow with a warm to hot shower will increase blood flow to the scalp.  This will decrease post-treatment discomfort and aid in the success of the treatment.

For several days post-treatment, avoid the use of harsh hair care products and hair care routines, such as coloring and blow drying.
