Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

What is naturopathic medicine?

Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that focuses on treating the root cause of illness rather than just symptoms. It combines evidence-based natural therapies, such as nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle modifications, and functional lab testing, to support the body's ability to heal.

What conditions do you treat?

I specialize in women's hormone health, including PMS, PCOS, peri-menopause, and thyroid disorders, as well as digestive health (gut dysbiosis, bloating, IBS), holistic skincare, and overall well-being. My goal is to help you optimize your health naturally.

Do naturopathic doctors prescribe medication?

As a licensed naturopathic doctor in California, I can prescribe certain medications when necessary, but my focus is on using natural solutions first. If conventional medication is needed, I’ll discuss the best options with you while still addressing the root cause.

What should I expect from my first visit?

Your first appointment will be an in-depth consultation where we review your health history, symptoms, and lifestyle. I’ll recommend specialized lab tests (if needed) to uncover underlying imbalances and create a personalized treatment plan for you.

Hormone & Fertility Health

How can I balance my hormones naturally?

Balancing hormones requires a combination of proper nutrition, stress management, sleep optimization, and lifestyle changes. I often use functional lab testing to pinpoint imbalances and create a customized plan, which may include herbal supplements, dietary changes, and lifestyle shifts.

Do you offer fertility lab testing?

Yes! I provide in-depth fertility lab testing to assess hormone levels, egg quality, and potential imbalances affecting conception. You can learn more about fertility labs in my e-book Optimizing Fertility: Essential Lab Tests for Women Trying to Conceive.

Gut Health & Digestion

How do I know if I have gut issues?

Signs of poor gut health include bloating, constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux, and food sensitivities. Other symptoms, such as fatigue, acne, and brain fog, can also be linked to gut imbalances.

Can you help with bloating and IBS?

Yes! I take a root-cause approach to bloating and IBS, looking at food intolerances, gut bacteria imbalances (SIBO, dysbiosis), and stress-related gut dysfunction. Lab testing and dietary adjustments can make a huge difference.

Skin & Acne

Can hormones cause acne?

Yes! Hormonal imbalances, particularly involving androgens (testosterone, DHEA), can trigger acne. Addressing hormone health through diet, stress management, and targeted supplements can improve skin clarity.

Appointments & Pricing

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance, but I can provide a super-bill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many patients use HSA/FSA funds for consultations and lab testing.

Yes! I see patients throughout California via telehealth, so you can receive personalized naturopathic care from the comfort of your home.
